Bobbin Head Nature Playground sits within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, where waterfront bushland meets contemporary play infrastructure.
The 2021 upgrade transformed the space into a fully fenced nature play environment featuring a six-metre climbing net, a large platypus climbing structure, timber parkour challenges, and rope fishnets—all designed to encourage environmental connection and open-ended exploration. Equipment spans twin slides, multiple climbing frames, balance mazes, swings, including toddler options, and nature-inspired elements scattered throughout. The giant sandpit base means bringing buckets and spades, and accepting sandy feet as part of the experience.
The waterside setting on Cowan Creek provides genuine appeal—families can combine playground time with creek-edge exploration, paddle boat hire, bushwalking tracks, and picnicking under established trees. Shade structures cover key play zones, with additional tree coverage throughout. Amenities include accessible toilets, barbecue facilities, picnic shelters (The Station and Pavilion available for hire), and two dining options: Bobbin Head Inn Café and Waterside Bistro.
National Park entry requires $12 day parking. The location suits full-day visits combining multiple activities, though weekend parking fills quickly—early arrival ensures smoother access and cooler temperatures for extended outdoor play.
